Great teachers great principal. They also have great special needs teachers that actually care about helping your children.

My girlfriend moved in with me. I lived in the possum district. One of her kids has autism. Both of her kids watched dad beat up mom. So as you can guess they are troubled. This school is NOT equipped to handle them. AT ALL! The first grade teacher allowed her autistic child do what ever he wanted. She put the kids on bouncing balls instead of chairs. Which im sure she knew would get popped. Our autistic child went backwards on reading and his speech. The youngest had anger issues and his teacher again, allowed her child to do as he wanted, and it set him back as well. They don't communicate to the parents well. We wanted to know how the days went for the kids, and they would keep it from us. We simply wanted to know so we could communicate that to his therapist. She refused and basically threatened us with child services because of how bad of a job she was doing. She taught our son that he can do what he wanted, then he comes home thinking the same thing. Didn't go well. So, we moved and put them in city schools. Both kids come home everyday on green( good behavior) and love the school they are at. Both get good grades. Possum may be ok if your kids come from a perfect back ground, but if not, this school doesn't know how to step out side of the box. One school therapist corrected the mother because she wanted the child to sit proper on a couch instead of standing on it. There is nothing wrong with a mother trying to teach a son respect. The schools teachers disrespected the mother at every turn. A woman who got her kids out of abuse is a powerful woman. NOT to be treated as the problem...this school set 2 kids back that we had to spend all summer correcting.

i like the teachers they are really nice the kids will lose more teachers without the levy passing and i have autism and it makes me upset that i have to go in next year to the high school but it really saddens me that my whole school district is crumbling in front of me and i can't do anything about it. But if you can and care about your child's education then go to the meeting and vote to pass the levy

Great staff who have always been very helpful and pleasant to have teaching our children. The building is in need of desperate repair but I do believe that is being addressed

Great teacher's and staff
